The Color Run San Diego is an annual occasion that consists of a 5K race, lots of colors, and a fun time with friends and fellow racers. Everyone is allowed to attend as a racer, volunteer, or spectator, but racers will have to sign up ahead of time and pay the fees to be able to participate. Part of the earnings goes to putting the event together, and another portion is donated to a local charity in San Diego.

All races start at 9 AM, and every five minutes after that colors will be flying through the air. The colored corn starch is thrown by the Color Bomb Squad (a team of volunteers) at all of the racers that move past them. Because the powdered colors are merely colored corn starch, there is no need to worry about poisonous paints or dyes ruining your day. After runners finish the race and cross the finish line, they can continue to throw colors at all of their friends and other runners who have completed the race.

The charity that will be benefitting from the Color Run San Diego is called Deaf Community Services of San Diego. This charity was chosen thanks to their goal to enrich the lives of the deaf community through services, education, and advocacy. Other race locations will contribute a portion of their proceeds to a charity that is in that area.

A t-shirt is awarded to all people of the Color Run San Diego. The phrase The Art of Running are printed on the shirts for runners, but volunteers of the Color Bomb Squad will receive a totally different shirt. In addition to the t-shirt, racers will also receive sunglasses, a racing big, and other cool gear from the sponsors upon registration. People of all ages are encouraged to get involved, and racers under the age of 7 can run for free.

Individuals who like to run or just have a good time will take pleasure in participating and volunteering in the Color Run San Diego. This 5K Color Run happens each year, and a local charity benefits from a portion of the registration fees. The more people that attend, the bigger the celebration and people in all age groups are invited to attend the event. The race isn't over when the multicolored runners cross the finish line, and everyone can hang out with friends while enjoying the food, drink, and live music.
