Almost every little girl dreams of representing the creations of famous designers on the catwalk, but few know that fashion models requirements are far more complex than having a pretty face and a well proportioned body. Of course, these are mandatory, but the personality of those who aspire to make their name known in this field is equally important.

An important part of the high fashion model requirements refer to your capacity to work hard, under pressure, and adjust to various working environments. It is not all glamorous parties and TV interviews. The photo shootings can be exhausting, can last 8 to 10 hours daily, with only short breaks. Also, for the presentations to be impeccable, endless rehearsals are necessary, not to mention the flights between the cities where the events are held.

As for the weight of a high fashion model, it must not exceed 130 pounds, with a minimum of 108. The body must be harmoniously proportioned, with the waist measuring under 25 inches and the circumference of the hips being somewhere around 35 and a half inches or less. The neck of a catwalk model must be long and gracious, and the chest somehow flat, so that the fashion creations fall perfectly. If you decide that you want to present bikini or lingerie, you must have more generously sized breasts. As for the legs, they must be long and thin, regardless of the type of modeling you are interested in.

The face is one of the most important parts of your body when it comes to following a career as a model. It must be very expressive and photogenic, and all its features have to be symmetrical. The eyes must have the shape of an almond, with a deep look and well defined eyebrows. The nose and chin have to be perfectly contoured and of medium size, without any visible imperfections. The ideal shape of a model's face is somewhere in between round and oval.

For an outsider, all these requirements seem sometimes exaggerated. People think that imperfections can be corrected anytime with the help of the plastic surgery. Partly, this is true, but photo shooting is an important part of a model's career, and the high resolution cameras used capture even the slightest flaws. Besides, the general tendency in high fashion today is to promote young girls who have a fresh and natural look.
